Music education has been a strength at Muriel Martin School since its inception. It has always been our belief that
every child has a right to quality music education.
Our K-6 music program provides musical experiences leading to the understanding and enjoyment of music. Singing is the basis of musical learning until
grades 5 and 6 when students also learn to play the alto recorder. Children have the opportunity to perform in choirs, within the school context, as well
as in extra-curricular activities. Several choirs are offered throughout the year:
October - Thanksgiving song performed at a school assembly by all the students
November - Remembrance Day song performed at a school assembly by all the students
December - School-wide Christmas concert - "The Nutcracker"
January - March: Division II choir
April - May: Division I choir
